Moped laws and loopholes? ?

Question

I live 10 miles from the high school I'm going to and I have to take the bus for the first time in my life. Except my bus is 1.48 miles away (just under 2 miles. figures!). My mom wants to buy me a new moped, except I'm 14 and I don't think I'm able to get one.

I live in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Any other options?!?!

In CA you need a motorcycle license, but check these websites out they have great info.

On the Nevada DMV website it states that you do not have to have a drivers license to operate a moped. Mopeds are not licenced.There is no minimum age. But to get insurance you may have to meet age standards.
