I want to have a moped, and ride one. I want to go through all of the legal processes, and ride legitemately. Im 16 now. Do i need a provisional lisence to get one, or not? Would i need a CBT (Compulsary basic training i believe) Or can i ride one straight away?

  1. Yes - you need to take the CBT course and get the certificate, then do a practical exam, then do a theory exam and with your CBT course cetificate they can give you a provisional licence.

You can only have a moped of 50cc without a pillion passenger, and not on motorways.

  2. In Virginia, I don't think you need any special liscense.  They can tell you for sure at the cycle shop.

  3. where do you live

  4. Yes you need a licence and you also need to take the CBT before you go out on the road.

They will lend you a bike to do it on. Its a laugh and you will learn some really useful skills

  5. depends on where you live, you might need a limited speed motorcycle licence
