  1. I think you should both agree ,

but your daughter IS 17 ,

so it's her decision if she buys it herself .

I think you should do some research on the Moped and it's Safety ,

Then you can see for yourself and have your own opinion on it .

Here is a link to Moped safety on Google , I would suggest certain websites , but they are all good .

    http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&rlz=1...

  2. i think you  should let her,it will be good for her to learn the road rules early and so on,sooner or later she will be on the road driving anyhow, and most possibly she will want your car to drive, and you can count on her picking her friends up aswell,h**l nows what could happen then, the moped she has to ride alone, asuming it's a 1seater,so her friends wont be in her ear to distract her.it would be good practice before a car.there are several safe rider courses you could get her to do aswell if that makes you happy.

  3. I think you are being a bit overprotective. As long as she won't be on really busy roads, or it's a city type environment where traffic never gets the chance to accelerate above 20 mph before stopping again, it shouldn't be too unsafe. Just have her take (and pass!) a motorcycle safety class before getting it. I'm thinking of getting a Vespa or similar brand scooter myself, if I ever get the money, so I've done quite a bit of research on the topic before.

  4. I agree with you cause mopeds are not as safe as cars and there is a higher risk of the rider getting serious injuries...so i think ur right ur not beigng over protctive.........

  5. No way is right.

Those things are more dangerous for anyone, let alone a teenager. There would be nothing to save her should someone hit her.

Even if you trust her, do you trust every other driver?

What is she going to do when it rains and snows? Who's paying for this toy?

  6. Actually they are really safe if the proper steps are taken. Actually there is a suit that acts as an airbag, once the rider is thrown from the veichle the suit activates and inflates before the rider even touches the ground.

  7. Let her get it.
