Massimo Moratti, Chief Executive Officer of Inter Milan, has gone on to remark on a couple of issues, including the need to go for the kill against low ranked teams.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Napoli-c40003 and AC Milan off this season. However,
having performed splendidly well against Napoli in the previous week, Moratti has stated on the need for the club to perform as well on a consistent basis and also on a level that is expected of the team.
This is because of the fact that despite the great results they have reached against the top clubs in the Italian Lega, they have not performed to the same level against the lesser ranked teams. Their performances against the likes of AC Siena, Palermo and
Atalanta left much to be desired of and they were not able to extract maximum points from these teams. These matches alone presented nine possible points for the Nerazzurri outfit and had they capitalised on two of these matches, they would have been sitting
at the top of the Serie A table.
It is easier to draw conclusions on retrospect but it has to be stated that the margin of errors at the top is so small that teams have to make sure that they perform to the best of their abilities at all times. This implies that the players would be looking
to perform to their maximum capacity as well as the coach of the team looking to impose their personality on each match. Moratti stated that there might be an unconscious lack of focus against smaller teams, to which he commented:
“Our focus is very high in the big matches, both from the players and the Coach, who really does his homework. I think he tries to do likewise against the others, but perhaps there's just a little less concentration.”
Internazionale are four points adrift of Lega leaders, Juventus.
