  1. In reality there are very few cases, when there are it disrupts everyone which is why we all think it happens alot.

  2. If memory serves, the average figure is around one or two a week.

  3. too many

  4. Who knows?

  5. During a standard average week, in London including surface and subsurface rail (DLR, Tube, National Rail and Tram / Light Rail) the average is about 1 person, this includes trespass, worker accidents and other accidents, people that die as a result are a lot smaller on average as most people only receive a glancing blow or are able to get back to a point of safety.

Most deaths are down to suicides however accidents concerning persons crossing lines illegally or taking a short cut, or crossing at a bridal / footpath crossing but not keeping a proper lookout are most of the causes, people being pushed onto the track are few and far between.

    Hope this helps
