Aleksandr Bubnov has warned Anzhi Makhachkala of dropping anymore points on the Russian Premier League table in order to claim European spot this season
Aleksandr Bubnov is of the belief that Mordovia Saransk will be relegated this season after suffering their latest defeat in the Russian Premier League tie against Dynamo Moscow at Arena Khimki on Saturday.
The Moscow-based club dominated the respective fixture right from the start after http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Kevin-Kuranyi-c20736 managed to double the lead on 24th minute after being found
out by http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Jakob-Jantscher-c17611, who is on-loan from Red Bull Salzburg.
The Saransk-based club responded well to the second goal and managed to pull one back through Kirill Panchenko. However, Kuranyi ended any lingering anxieties of the visitors after scoring his 10th goal of the ongoing
league campaign.
“Initially, it was clear that Dynamo are favourites. Dan Petrescu's team started the match just the way one should play against a weaker opponent. I think that Mordovia gave up the match at halftime. The team will leave the elite
division one hundred percent.” The Soviet Top League winner was quoted as saying.
There is little arguing to the statement that Anzhi Makhachkala have been unable to impress their spectators recently. Guus Hiddink’s side are at the third-spot on the league table after recording yet another defeat against Spartak
Moscow at Luzhniki stadium.
Their latest 2-0 defeat against the Moscow-based club on Sunday is the clear indicator of the key areas they need to work on.
Bubnov lamented the Dagestani club’s performances in recent weeks and said that Anzhi needs to find consistency. He warned the Russian outfit to work harder if they are to fight for any European place this season.
“Although it is too early to say that Makhachkala will not qualify for the Europa League, it is getting difficult for Anzhi as they are losing enough points.”
“Hiddink's charges will now play against their three direct competitors in the upcoming fixtures and they might experience more serious problems. They must somehow solve the problem.” He concluded.
Anzhi will now play against Rubin Kazan at Dynamo stadium (Makhachkala) before travelling to Petrovsky stadium to play Russian Cup final against Zenit.
