  1. I agree with you to a certain extent.  An older woman who hooks up with a younger man may be called a "cougar" but a younger woman who hooks up with an older man is often called a "gold digger".

Any  situation can be viewed in a negative light.

The real problem is that people  think they have any business making judgments about the relationships others choose.

I would "hook up" with a younger  OR older man and not really care what others think.

  2. WHo cares?

  3. I would think the only time the word pervert could possibly come into play is if the person is not of the legal age.  I've dated an older man before, and nobody judged him or criticized us for it.

  4. *Laughs*

Personally, I believe it's the same for both men and women. It would really depend upon the age of each party involved and perhaps the age gap (e.g. I don't believe a man in his thirties or forties should date a girl who is in her teens, same goes for women.)

  5. Women who try to hook up with way younger men are to me freaking desperate. I guess they can't get someone their own age so they need to fool the young minded is what I think. But they mght be sick in the head.

Men that hook up with way younger women are not sick but they like to be with the young and inexperienced. He either can't find someone his own age or he prefers someone young and stupid. They also might be sick minded.

They both loose in a way. The older women will most likely be dumped because of her age. And the older man will become broke. But age isn't an issue as long as it's legal. I mean my dad was 16 years older then my mom when he found her in Egypt. My dad isn't sick minded he just fell for my mom.

  6. It's not funny when the young guy is a minor, I'll tell you that. Then, there are people who want her hung from the highest tree. When everyone's legal, I don't consider it perverted. But people tend to forget that based on emotional responses.

  7. In the world of sexual double standards, men are the preditors. So if an older woman hooks up with young guys, it must mean they were persuing her. If a older man hooks up with younger girls, it must mean he is preying on the young. In the world of double standards, it's the men who make the s*x decisions.

  8. yes, but whats the big deal?

  9. It depends on the ages involved. The men who are "perverts and "sick" are the ones over 30 looking for teenagers. I think it would be the same standard for women...

  10. lol it really depends on how young the girl is. Cougars tend to hook up with 18 yr olds or older which is very legal but a man who hooks up with a 15 yr old now thats considered illegal.

It really depends on how young the girl is.

  11. Does it really matter what anyone thinks? If the couple are happy what's it got to do with anyone else?

  12. because idiots in the world can't accept the fact the women can be perverts too.

  13. Please, Mike - consider the source....the women who would find the second situation to be pervy or sick are immature and insecure to begin with....so why would you lend any credence to their views?

Sure, there are women out there who feel that way...but why do you pay any mind to them?  They are irrational, and therefore, should be ignored.

  14. It's hardly double standards.

The term cougar is hardly a term used in jest. and if you think that a older man is considered a 'pervert' explain Hugh Hefner.

The younger woman who has a relationship with an older man is considered a gold digger, how is that not degrading? The only way that cougar would be considered 'funny' is by owning derogatory language in the same that the banned word that rhymes with tigger is now used in the black community, it is still derogatory but 'owned' to take out the sting of the comment.
