Question:

More Reception Hall Problems?

I posted a question before about my reception hall and picking the one that my fiancee had wanted. I talk to my mother and she wants to cook the food for the wedding (with my fiancees mom's helped too) and the hall my fiancee had wanted does not allow you to bring it outside food what so ever. His mom does not have a lot of money and my mom said she would pay for all the food, she just wanted help making it. So I've been looking at different halls, but I think my fiancee is still unhappy that he won't get the hall he wants. Any advice?

Man...2 years away, just started planning, and running into problems already!

  1. you both have to agree- save money and have the moms cook and not the palce you want or spend more and have the hall he wants and thier caterer

  2. omg.. you are SO lucky you are two years in advanced. I took 1 year.. figured I had all the time in the world though I started taking care of center pieces, my dress, and decor that could be bought at craft stores with the 40% off coupons.

This helped me the most when my own mom tried to think she would take on the task:::: are you having more than 50 ppl? and do you want to make sure to get your pictures instead of having them setting up food?

sometimes it is best to just put it on the card. We got a discover card with both our names on it... and 3% cash back or something.

  3. Put your foot down now or the next two years will be miserable!

    That or just elope...LOL!

Do you seriously want the stress of worrying about both moms cooking for the number of guests you are looking at having?  That stress is just not needed.  That and then you would have the liability issue if someone were to get sick off something you served them.

Leave the food to the hall.
