My parents won't let me shave so it's stuck. Is there any way to live with it and maintain good self esteem?

  1. You can buy little tiny Veet wax strips for facial hair. They're self warming.. you just rub the strips between your fingers. Yes, it hurts... but only for that quick second. But like the others said, definitely don't shave... so there might be a reason why your parents said no in the first place :)

If you don't like to wear makeup, possibly a tinted moisturiser can help? I also prefer to dye the upper lip. The hairs aren't very dark but being my OWN face it still annoys me, so I just use a facial bleach product... there are many on the market. They work quite good and don't make you look silly.

  2. pluck!

  3. I had that problem for a long time.

So, unfortunately I had to work with it.

I wear make-up, so concealing it would look less darker, which is a lot better than if it were bare-skinned.

Having facial hair is a minor set back, believe me, I`m not allowed to pluck my eyebrows, so I take attention away from them and put bright lipgloss or fix my hair up.

    Good luck, bb. ;)

  4. I agree with the person that said to not ever shave!! it will make it thicker! If anything go to a salon and get it threaded. I have done and it actually reduces the thickness of the hair. Also I have been advised not to wax because it can also cause it too get thicker. Try getting your eyebrows threaded first to see if it doesnt hurt for you, because I know it does for my sister. But for me I can't feel anything.

  5. If it's very thin, very light facial hair, you really have nothing to worry about since it's not that noticeable. But if your facial hair does show, then just try your best to work with it. Maybe draw the attention away from it by doing something fancy to your hair. If people only see you because of your appearance, then why make friends with them? I have acne and my best friends (including guys) are fine with it. I just see that having acne is a minor setback. What's the worse that can happen to you because you have facial hair? Hope that helped. :)

  6. Go to your doctor or dermatologist and get a prescription for Vaniqa.  It reduces the growth rate of facial hair.  In most cases you have pluck/wax way less.

  7. don't ever raise a razor to your face it'll grow thicker and you will regret it. just wax off unwanted hair or go to a salon and have it plucked or 'threaded'.

  8. If its upper lip hair then go to a beauty salon and get it threaded, it won't cost much and will last up to 4 wees. Take your mom along so she know exactly what you're doing so she'll be less likely to object. Tell her you fell you're old enough to do this. DO NOT SHAVE FACIAL HAIR, if yu get cuts it'll look horrid! Also shaving only gets rid of hair for 3 days, then you'll get stubble, growing back. With threading it will row back finer and softer. It hurts a bit at first but you'll get used to it over time.

  9. Never never never shave facial hair! Lol, it will just grow back bigger and thicker and darker! The opposite of what we want! Your options are plucking (painful), waxing (can be painful and costly) or using hair removal cream. Personally I recommend using hair removal cream. It's fast, effective, low cost and painless. When you buy it, make sure it's one specially designed for use on the face. Good luck ;)
