More dreams?

on some nights I find myself waking up a lot in the most extreme fear and afraid to go to bed, on these nights I suffer what I think is called sleep paralysis (where you're kind of half awake, cant move, feel presences, feeling of something on your chest etc.)...

This happens a lot more in my grandparents house than anywhere else, and for the most part I cant see what the presence is (sometimes its myself, sometimes its a demon like figure, I also have seen something sawing through the door), i also experience the feeling of floating associated with it

The last time it happened I actually began to get up somewhat (I guess similar to someone who was just hurt bad and struggling to move) and I saw whatever the thing was pause in its track then run away like a scared child

What the **** should I make out of this???

  1. yeah, i experience these things from time to time too, although the frequency has lessened significantly since my teen years.

    Some tips, they happen much more frequently when people are sleeping on thier back. They will happen during periods of high stress, and irregular sleep patterns. Some people are far more prone to sleep paralysis than others. You might want to go to a sleep clinic and get tested for sleep apnea or other sleeping disorders as these can cause frequent sleep paralysis.

    If you want to avoid it, you need to keep regular sleep habits. Practice relaxation techniques before bed, maybe meditation. Fall asleep on your side.

  2. I have never experienced it, but it sounds exactly like the descriptions I've read of sleep paralysis.  It's a good thing that you are recognizing it as a condition of irregular sleep rather than as some paranormal visitation.

    I have no way of knowing, but if you get it one place and not another it would probably have to do with the position you sleep in.  Do you sleep on your back at your grandparents' house but on your stomach or side at home?

  3. For my opinions,

    as a Muslims. This is what we call shaytan. He present his self with the ugly look and what we call ghost.

    Things that happen to you are actually the ghost is overlap on your body, and this can cause you can't breathe and feel intolerable.

    As a Muslims, we will read the Qur'an(the holy book) and that things will run away or we call the Ustaz to check out.

    I think you should refer back to your "holy book" to solve your problem.

    Hope you'll feel more better.

  4. The symptoms you describe are well known. The mental state on becoming half awake f from sleep paralysis is conducive to mixing dreams with reality such that dream fragments seem real for a moment.  Check the site below for a good description and some links. Note the reference to hypnogogic hallucinations............

    Recommendations:

    In severe cases, where episodes take place at least once a week for 6 months, medication may be used.

    You may be able to minimize the episodes by following good sleep hygiene:

        * getting enough sleep

        * reduce stress

        * exercise regularly (but not too close to bedtime)

        * keep a regular sleep schedule

  5. Demons could be living in your grandparents house. Maybe there is ocultic objects in the house that attracts them or perhaps the previous owner who lived there was involved in the occult.(Or has died) My advice would be to pray before you go to your bed. Ask God to protect you with his angels especially when you are sleeping. God answers prayers so why don't you pray about it. You can even ask God exactly what is going on and why you have difficulty sleeping. Good Luck!!!

  6. People with sleep paralysis or night terrors tend to also suffer from anxiety and/or depression.

    Yours sounds like an exceptionally severe case, and because of that, I would recommend a thorough medical examination and a sleep clinic.

    Sleep clinics can work wonders these days, and they may be able to find the source of your problem and fix it immediately.

    It may be something as simple as a lack of oxygen to the brain.

  7. There is a prayer that you can pray that will protect you.  Also try an herbal tea like chamomile it will help you with stress.
