More help needed with Ebay-PayPal?

Do I have to start up a Business account with PayPal or does it automatically allow me to accept payments? How will I link my Ebay to my PayPal to use my bank account? Is there not a way to just accept payments through Ebay? Any advice on any of these questions AND/OR more helpful info will be appreciated. I'm very confused and very eager to get started but I do not want to mess anything up.

  1. Dubs is right online with the answers. Paypal is very thurough and will essentially walk you through everything. You have an account with Ebay-that account will have a monthly balance. The fee to put the item up for auction and then a small fee based on the selling price-You pay the total of these fees monthly-it can be taken out of your Paypal account automatically. Paypal itself does not charge you to pay with paypal or to transfer funds to your checking but does charge a percentage fee to accept funds from buyers of your goods-its taken out as soon as the monies go into your Paypal account. If you want your balance on your Ebay seller fees-go to your summery page (my Ebay) and you can find your sellers account listed on the left hand side-click it and your totals will come up. Good luck-keep reading! Ebay covers everything! Go to the site listing on the front page-on right top-after clicking you can find just about everything you need to look up!

  2. Hello!

Yes, I know how confusing the paypal-ebay process can be.

You don't need to start up a business account with paypal unless you plan to operate on ebay as an official business. For instance, you wouldn't set up a business account to hold a yard sale, but if you are selling significant quantities of items and/or receiving a significant amount of your income from such salse, then you may need to establish yourself as a business.

Now to link ebay to paypal: Ebay owns Paypal, and this process is quite simple to be done once your bank account is approved through paypal. Once you submit your account number and additional information, paypal will deposit two small sums into your bank account ($.01, $.12, etc.). You would confirm the amounts with Paypal, and once approved, your account can be linked with Ebay.

It is a very straightforward process, so fear not!
