More help on square roots of fractions...?

So if say problem b is The sqr of 9/27, then is the answer 1 times the sqr of 3/3????? Ug i'm so confused and not quite sure if I did this right. Can someone tell me if it's right? (my math notes aren't much help)

  1. I have difficulty understanding your problem.

    b = √(9/27) is that it?

    b = √(1/3)

    b = √3/3  <<< answer

    1 times the sqr of 3/3 = 1*1 = 1

    .


  2. Let me get this right, you want to find out the square root of:

    √(9/27)

    Well we can cancel this down to:

    √(1/3)

    To give us:

    ..1..

    ------

    √3

    And then we can rationalize the denominator. So we multiply both parts of the fraction to get rid of the surd denominator, to get:

    √3

    -----

    .3.

    And that's our answer.
