I was looking for drivers yesterday that were compatible with my sound card. I found out the make of my sound card and found the drivers from the website. The trouble I am now having, is when I use these drivers, the bloody computer says there is no sound card device installed on the computer. Well, there is. It is asking me to install it using the CD that came with the sound card - trouble is, I don't have that as it is the standard sound card that came already in the PC. Is there anywhere on line I can find this software?

I have a Dell and it is a Sound Blaster Live! sound card

  1. just tell it its a yamaha sound blaster or anything else in the list that is average sound card . is it xp ? have you stopped the onboard sound card ? EDIT - start- control panel- sounds & audio devices- volume advanced ( uncheck mute if any ) then test hardware run test .

  2. Sound blaster is only a utilitiy, you need to install the audio driver for your computers sound card...enter dxdiag into the run commands and see what the name of your sound card is
