  1. in order to have a debit card you need a checking account. Being that you are 14 you need a guardian for the account. Parents, Uncle, Aunt,etc... Basicly some one that is an adult, and you can trust. That person can tap into your account anytime, and thats a devastating disavantage. Good-luck!

  2. Well I am a personal banker, I'm actually at work right now! You may at 14 years old receive a debit card. You must have a parent on the account with you and they must give you permission. A debit card is a card hooked up to your checking account. Basically every time  you use your card it debits your checking. Hense the term "debit card" Say you spend 9.99 at walmart....it will take 9.99 away from  you checking account automatically. It is not a credit card! you must have the money in your account before you spend. It is to easy to spend when you have a debit card. It is easy to over draw your account. Which means you spend more than you have and I'm sure your bank will charge you a fee for doing this. So be careful and use your check book register!! keep track of all purchases! Also you will need a 4 digit pin ex: 1234......and you will be the only one who should know it. You will put that pin in when you use your card. Good luck spend smart and dont over draw your account!

  3. It is a card that you use to take money out of your checking account.  So, you have to have money in your account to use it.

Open up a checking account and you will get one.   That card makes you pay immediately.  It is not a credit card that you can pay on later.
