  1. Do you mean, astigmatism? I have astigmatism as well in both eyes. I too had aching pains in my eyes when I first got the glasses and it was a few months before it went away. Your eyes are simply adjusting to the lenses. It's weird being able to 'see' again.

But just as a precaution I would go back to the doctor to see about the 'lazy' eye. That is one thing that I did not experience and doesn't sound normal to me.

  2. You didn't mention how long you have been wearing glasses.  If it's recent, your eyes are adjusting.

I also have astigmatisms in BOTH my eyes.  I remember before I began wearing reading glasses, I would read a book, put it down to rest my eyes, which incidentally caused me to fall asleep.  When I would be woken up (not naturally waking up on my own), I couldn't focus and my eyes would cross...it was embarrassing.  One eye seemed to be worse than the other; hence getting lazy on me.

When I got glasses I had migraines, nausea and dizziness till my eyes were able to get used to it and till I could relax my face and scalp (I would tighten my face or hold my head up a certain way while looking through my glasses).

If you are far-sighted you may be able to remove your glasses if you aren't reading.

Also, if it doesn't stop watering or hurting, call your optometrist to double check your prescription and your eyes and let them know what is going on with you.

I think you're normal...just double check with your doctor for assurance.

  3. An Astigmatism means one or both of your eyes are misshaped normally shaped like a football as apposed to a round ball. Generally this misshape causes issues with your sight. You have that pain due to the fact that you have been overcompensating for the lack of sight by straining. Now that you have glasses your eyes are correcting themselves with the help of the glasses. Just like a healing cut it will be uncomfortable at times. If you wear your glasses as much as possible you will stop having headaches and maybe even correct some of the problem.

    Good luck.

P.S. they now make contacts for this too.
