Question:

More of a comment than a question?

I sure have noticed a lot of questions about "should I buy a PC or Mac". I also notice most of the questions regarding problems with operating systems are about PC's not Mac's. As well, there seems to be people out there with animosity towards Mac's. Why is this, are you PC users jealous? Are people leaning more towards Macs now?

  1. I've owned both. Had two Mac's at home, one very old one at work. I've also used Windows NT and 98 here at work. Soon to get a laptop probably with XT or Vista (am told that Vista still has a lot of issues). Have always loved the flexibility of the Macs. Later versions got a little more like the WinTel OS. Although I have never been on or past OSX, I've seen and heard great things. Very easy to work with and the multimedia is WAY WAY better than Windows media center. User settings and control panels are much easier to work with as well. The downside to MACs? There is a lot of software that is not compatible with MAC OS (although you can buy MACs that run dual mode, quasi PC). Downside of PC's? OS Big Time & system file handling (Dll & Driver file catastrophe's).

  2. Maybe Macs are the best thing since sliced bread; I wouldn't know because I've never had one. What I do know is that there are lots of questions like, "is this software/hardware/peripheral etc etc Mac compatible?" I just want to buy software or hardware and know that it will work on my PC without having to look around for different drivers or fiddling around trying to make things work. So I'll stick to PC even though Mac may be faster/better.
