More on AFL Footy Cards.?

Can't for the life of me understand why more of the cards are not available to the Sun/Herald readers.

Unless you are up at the Crack of Dawn, all the cards are swooped on. Anyone would think that they were a freebie, but they cost the collector $1.50 per set each day.

Anyone else buying these treasured items before the birds are up. ??

  1. no, sorry not interested any more.

i had some as a kid that made up the previous years action shots from the grand final, had full sets from 1969-1975, lost them all in a house move.

i have the herald (not herald-sun) from the 1980 grand final, kept it in a brown paper bag, still in good shape, Micky malthouse has black hair, lol.

  2. no, i get there at whatever time and people still have them there. i go up to the newsagent everyday at about 1.00 to get the paper and just ask for them and there still there.

  3. Nah, I have 2001 through 2005 full sets - may be missing 2002 and haven't bothered getting them since 05.

  4. No I realised when I bought the paper for the album that it was going to be a waste of time. If you really want one wait until the end of the promotion and for about a week after the Herald Sun will probably sell the album and whole collection with out the hassel.

I could be wrong though, I know that Smiths did it for  their cards.
