So my teacher said that Global Warming takes like 1,000 years to like "get ready" or "building up pulltion" but 1,000 years ago there was less people right? also they didnt have all the stuff we are using to pullote the world so how come it is having now? btw I think it is a natural thing the earth is always changing and yes things have died out for ever because of it so how come it is so crazy for us to think us people might die out?

  1. There were far less people 1,000 years ago, but some of the early practices that lead to global warming were already underway.

Human use of fossil fuels (which produce CO2) goes back 1000's of years.  But it's use started increasing in the 1700's when people found out coal produced a hotter fire than wood. Then in the early 1800's when the Industrial revolution increased our need for more energy, coal burning increased significantly.

But before this, humans started clearing land for agriculture and that resulted in less trees to absorb CO2 emissions.

  2. The earth changes because of the people that live on it. The cars that we drive, the trash and chemicals that we use. Cutting down rainforest's and polluting the waters.

Not enough recycling like all these plastic bottles*.

Over the years the pollution has gotten worse and that has caused the global warming.

Ask your teacher how you can help!

  3. What class is this?  Doesn't matter... this is happening all over the country.  What's cyclical (other than the weather) is the ultra-left wing indoctrination of students.  You're a smart kid for asking questions and being skeptical.  Here is some more things to think about and possibly bring up with you teacher:

Man made global warming doesn't exist. There is an entire industry based around this latest climate scare (there is one every 30 years or so, either warming or cooling).

The global warming religion likes to use the National Academy of Science report as their bible, but this is bias and funded by special interest groups. Look carefully at the facts. For example, it states that temperatures have risen 1.4 degrees since the beginning of the 20th century. This is true. However, temps have NOT increased in the last 10 years. You'll notice that, in the 2008 report, none of the graphs contain data past 2000... sketchy, huh? It's because this defies the rising temp theory.

Even though the polar bears have now been put on the endangered species list, it is because they changed the rules. The population has actually tripled in the last 30 years. It's the reason that the governor of Alaska is now suing the federal government.

Furthermore, the ice shelfs are the among the highest seen in 30 years. Carbon dioxide is actually a good thing. The list goes on and on for evidence to the contrary of man made global warming, but there is no irrefutable evidence that it does exist.

No matter what environmentalists say (or how they say it), there is no evidence that man is causing global warming. They will use sleight of hand to try and get you, but don't be a sucker. For example, notice how NO commercials say anything about "global warming" anymore? The use the words "climate change" now. That's because environmentalists realize that time is becoming limited on this scare, but they can use the words "climate change" and keep us afraid that we're going to die, whether it be from warming, cooling, etc.

A link that'll get you started on your education (not funded by any special interest groups): http://www.cato.org/pub_display.php?pub_...

For your own good, the good of the nation, and yes, the planet, you should be VERY skeptical. Look carefully at the facts and the language. Environmentalists are not always keeping the green of nature in mind. There is a lot of money to be made in this hugely expanding industry.

Even if you are someone who will never believe that global warming doesn't exist, think about this... it will cost 29 trillion dollars to fight this threat of sketchy (and special interest funded) "science" along with ruin our economy. Know how much it will take to feed the entire human population for the next 100 yrs? 7 trillion.

Still think we should be making public policies and spend all that money? Then do one thing for me before you call your local congressman: Name one thing that the government hasn't screwed up.

  4. What your teacher said doesn't make any sense.  The planet warms and cools all the time - there's no 1,000 year delay before it changes.

Scientists have determined that the current global warming is not natural - that humans are causing it by releasing tons of carbon dioxide by burning fossil fuels.  See the link below for further details on this.

  5. lol

  6. I think Liss is partially correct Earth is cyclical,

but do u know that the earth is 4 Billion years old and ice age occured due to meteorites.

they crashed and gave CO2 and CO emmisions, they blocked the atmos and didn't let the sun pass its rays to warm the earth, as heat was lost life didn't sustain and ice age began when man was reaching his final evolution,

Now as we have acted like catalysts 2 speed up its cycle by using SUVs, Air coolers, refridgerators, and micro waves we are giving those harmful gases which came out during metaorite crashes.

  7. It is cyclical.

    Ask your teacher this question:

"If global warming is man made, how did we come out of the last ice age?  Did cave men have SUV's, plastic bottles, and coal run energy plants?"

Then point out that the glaciers on Greenland are revealing farmland the Vikings had back in the medieval warming period, so it was warmer then, and the Vikings sure didn't have any of those things either, so how was it warmer then?

The earth warms and cools on its own.  You're right, your teacher's a liberal.
