My son is asking what is the most horsepower that you can get out of a 2007 Mustang V6 and still keep the driveability streetable? It has a manual transmission. Would different clutch be advisable if one upped the power?

  1. use SHELL V-Power petrol..it always have the edge during racing.

  2. Since the pursuit of power is alway a endless money pit with mustangs would suggest keeping the way it is and upgrading to a GT a few years later. But if this route is a must I would suggest first getting a diablosport utning device. this device will allow for some inital modifications to the vehicle as far high mild tunes. Then you can upgrade later to cold air induction systems and possibly a better flowing exhaust. In any one of these instances the vehicle will need a upgraded computer tune to compinsate for changing air fuel ratio's.

  3. The block and internals are good for around 450 HP, anything over that and you'll need forged rods/crank/etc. To get anywhere near that number, you would need forced induction of some kind and every bolt on possible. A supercharger will run about $3000 for the parts and a couple hundred for the install. Then you'll need a custom dyno tune to get the most out of it, it would be wise to get an upgraded clutch, and a stronger axle (8.8 inch or 9 inch) And at the end of the day you'll still have V6 Mustang that will lose to V8 Mustang with only half of the money invested in it that you put into your car.

  4. Cold Air intake, Free up the exhaust, not a f**t can either. I mean headers if they are available, free flow cats, and open chambered mufflers. Computer chip reflash. Underdrive pulleys, BBK 70mm throttle body, screamin demon coil, 8mm Taylor spark plug wires, gap lugs out to .060-.065. These will all bring the HP up. I think you could easily pull 350hp out of it.

  5. If you want more horsepower from an already super powerful car like that, then you need to upgrade to premium air filters and cold air intake.  With switching, you will obtain ultimate HP and you will notice a huge difference.  Cold air intake will cost a bit, but it will give you a noticeable difference in HP right away and replacing the air filters with high performance super flow air filters will make a difference as well!
