More ps3 questions for you boffins!?

firstly my ps3 was bought second hand and its the backwards compatible 60gb one.

first question is that there is only 19 gb left of hdd, is there a way of telling where all the disk space has gone? there is a couple of hindred songs and a few demos on the system and that is it! surely that doens't use so much? the songs are all aac for some reason.

secondly the system info is only showing that there is 55gb hdd so what happened to the 60gb hdd ? do they steal some of it for programmes at production?

thirdly how to you put your own files from your mobile or from the pc onto the ps3? Do you use the memory card slots? does it read them automatically or do you have to do something to bring up the files? how do you save them onto ps3?

I have orb running and the ps3 finds my files automatically when its switched on, but I'm a bit worried because I don't have to type in any password. is it simply because the ps3 shares my router? if i go online i have to type in a password for orb.

fourthly - there is a lot of lag when viewing videos through orb, do i need a better router. my one is 56 mpbs. I have virgin cable so I need an ethernet router NOT an adsl modem/router. so suggest one.

thats all folks i hope you can help.

  1. 1). Demos can take up to 1.5GB. In case you want to know an exact amount of memory - choose file, press triangle and choose Information.

2). 60GB is a marketing name. Usually HDD size is a bit different.

3). There can be a problem with mobile, as for memory cards, etc. - stick it in, if files are placed according to PS3 requirements - it'll show them automatically, if files are placed randomly - just choose Show All option (press triangle).

4). It's just your LAN (your home network).

5). Why do you use Orb anyway? Switch to TVersity (free from www.tversity.com). It's much better media sharing program. I'm using it.
