More resume help please

Question

I'm working on my resume. For the past few years I've been a stay at home mom. I also do all the book keeping for my husbands small trucking company. I don't officially work for him, or get paid. Can I list that as work experience, and if so how? It's definitely work, and the computer experience would really help me get a job.

As stated by someone else, list it under a "Volunteer" heading. Below it, specify what computer programs you are competent in and how many words you can type in a minute. DO NOT include that the trucking company is owned by your husband (or any relative). During an interview, remember to bring samples of your work (with sensitive information blacked out).

You could always show it as volunteer work.

You do not need to memtion about being volunteer work, since is your husband business, it become family business, and wife keep the book works is very common.

You should also ask your husband to write you a reference letter using the company letter head.

You need to included al your book keeping and PC experience too

i.g. you can list you have experience on: payroll, inventory control, account payable, general ledger, etc. Which ever you have done before for your husband.  Good luck to your new adventure.............
