I was wondering if you don't get an irritation with a scented pad, same goes with a scented tampon.

  1. I get extremely itchy if I use a scented liner. I wouldn't go near a scented tampon. I can just imagine the pain ;)

  2. Scented can cause yeast infection. Tampons too.

  3. While scented tampons are marketed, they are NOT recommended.  The perfumes the manufacturers use can cause irritation to the VERY delicate vaginal walls, and it can also contribute to infections.

Fragrances are in place to mask the menstrual odor.  Since tampons keep the blood from coming into contact with air (and is the contact with air that causes the odor) there is no real fundamental need for the use of fragrance-enhanced tampons.

    I recommend against them.

  4. Not neccessarily, and I didn't know such things existed! Just because your external skin doesn't have a reaction, doesn't mean your internal skin will be the same.

I personally would avoid anything scented just in case, as I don't feel comfortable having unknown chemicals/substances internally. I don't understand the reasoning either - how you even smell it trapped in there, and who would get close enough to actually know it's scented??? I would more be concerned with reducing possible smell, such as a mild deodorising agent or something.

No idea really, but seems odd to me!

  5. They are both bad for you try not using either. if your having an odor problem during that time of the month try taking a shower with a feminine wash it really helps alot.

  6. Not necessarily. A pad only touches you from the outside whereas a tampon touches you from the inside. Scented pads may not bother you, but scented tampons might. In general it's best to avoid all scented menstrual products - they don't do a good job of controlling scent (which shouldn't be a problem if you change it regularly) and why put extra chemicals in your body if you don't have to.

  7. No risk if you don't with the pads

  8. I've never had any problems with scented tampons or pads. Just try them and if you have a negative reaction, switch back to unscented.

  9. I don't use either because of the risk of getting irritation.  I don't like making things worse than what they already are.

  10. What's the point of a scented tampon?  The point of a tampon is that it keeps everything inside so there is no blood or discharge to be smelled.

  11. No they are different because of the fact that the tampon goes inside of you. but you will not know if it irritate you untill you try it.

  12. I have read everywhere I've researched that scented nothing is good down there. The reasons? Infection! Like bacterial vaginosis. It's the result of an unbalanced ph level from various things, including scented pads or tampons.
