Question:

More scared of security than flying?!?

I don't know why, but I'm really nervous when I go through screening and customs. I'm always scared I'll say something bad or wrong. Flying is no problem with me though. The only thing I've got to hide is $25 my dad gave me just incase something bad happened. So I'm not guilty of anything. Do you have any ideas of how I can overcome this fear? It is just so annoying.

  1. Hello,

To be honest, if you have nothing to hide, security is not going to find it ;) . Security just wants you to answer their questions and complete the screening process. If there is something in your bag that is not allowed, they will tell you but will usually not arrest you unless it is a loaded gun or a bomb, which I am assuming you don't have.

Just relax, be calm, and go with the flow. There is no reason to be afraid of airport security.

    Happy flying!

  2. just relax and remember they cant do anything if u didnt do anything. unless u have something ur not supposed to have then u have to worry but if not dont worry. just memebr that they cant do nuthin if u dont. hope this works

  3. There's absolutely nothing to fear.  Just relax and be normal!!!  Please don't let them intimidate you, no matter how rude or loud they get.  Just make sure you follow all the rules.  Such as no liquids over 3 oz, if you have them make sure they are in a quart size zip lock bag.  If you've got a belt, loose change, take it out  and put it in the bin and of course your shoes.  As for the $25, no worries at all!!!  Chill out and breeze through it!!!!!!!!

  4. just think of the security people as people that are protecting you and everyone else by making sure that terrorists and weapons and other bad stuff doesn't get on the plane.

  5. TSA really seem like the bad guys to a lot of us these days.  Just keep telling yourself that you have nothing to hide, thus nothing to worry about.  Don't speak unless they ask you something, and stay ahead of the game.  Take off your shoes before they ask you to do it, make sure you're up on the rules before you board, etc.  I hope you get over it soon...but I do understand it.
