  1. yes, i would say that is true... however, i would not say that this is a bad thing ("sorrow" would probably better be replaced by "discontent" or another word along that line)... the more you know, the more you realize how much you don't know... questioning leads to more questions, which, personally, is rather rewarding... it's what leads to knowledge...

  2. If you knew more about life, you'd stop reading that c**p.

    Open a REAL book!!

  3. So ignorance is bliss according to the teacher?  From the time of Christ there was more knowledge than one man could handle.  From that day to this the amount of knowledge has increased so what does that mean according to the verse you quote?  If you believe humans were given a brain by God, you must also believe we were intended to use our brains beneficially.  The teacher would have us give up all earthly pleasures and spend our lives fearing God and keeping his commandments. Nothing is said about the illogical interpretation of a human into the mind of God which results in believing that the creator of the universe needs the fear and worship of creatures such as us.  Ecclesiastes names himself as the son of David.  Even metaphorically, he still comes off pompous with his denial of all human characteristics as vain and temporary.
