Well, depends on the person I guess...but don't you mean sea or ocean instead of beach?

I believe both are very spiritual, they represent earth and water, symbolized trough many gods and goddesses throughout the history.

it depends on the person who needs a spiritual place. Every person sees it in a different way. For me the mountains represent a spiritual place because somehow i see it as being closer to God, but the beach is a relaxing and quiet place (if you're alone) so it may be a spiritual place also.

It all depends on a person's pre-conceptions - and whether or not you live where the beach/mountain is close to a metropolitan area.  

When I want to "get away" for some quiet contemplation, I don't want to be bothered by crowds of people in the mountains or at a beach - and because beaches are typically surrounded by metropolitan areas (unless you're searching for rocky, rougher stretches of beach such as can be found along Northern California, Oregon, and Washington in the United States), I'd say your chances for quiet and solitude will be easier met in mountains.  Unfortunately, true "mountains" where solitude is achievable are often far away from metropolitan areas, so you may not have the opportunity for that personal "zen moment" you're searching for.  

For me, beaches really aren't an option - unless you count the shores of the Great Salt Lake in Utah...  So when I want my personal solitude, I typically head for lesser-known areas of mountains - or deserts.

Yup.  Deserts are also another area where a person can find solitude for their zen moments.  In many cases, you can be 20+ miles from the nearest human being in a desert.

The sea is very spiritual but in general places further from human habitation are more spiritual.  So mountains would be more spiritual.  Also when humans climb a mountain they are in a more reverent state so they wouldn't disturb the energy as much as revellers on a beach.

Anyone can go to a beach but the mountain still has to be climbed and not everybody has the physical and mental endurance to do so.

Once you are alone and you do not hear cars honking and people's noise, it is the greatest feeling in the world. You can actually connect with nature

well. 1stly about spiritual places, the main requirement of a place is one tht must be silent,peaceful and something that gives u pleasure. thats the reason why many people consider places in nature.  here,mountains have an edge over beaches as they are sylvan and serene and peaceful . where as many people come to beaches and disturb ur silence. in fact, ifuhav ur own room, nothin is better than sittin in ur room and havin peace where the brain works actively. in that case u wil achieve what ever u want to the fullest
