More than half of businesses well prepared for London 2012 Olympics
According to a recent research conducted by Games Readiness program run by Deloitte, 55 percent of businesses in various sectors are up to the mark with their preparations for the London 2012 Olympic Games.
These businesses belong to various sectors that range from travelling, hospitality as well as leisure. The businesses include companies which are both small to medium scale as well as large corporations.
The new statistic of the preparations being conducted in lieu of the international sporting event is heartening as a similar survey showed a decreased amount of interest in the Olympics last year. In 2010, the survey showed a total of 32 percent of people
that were up to the mark with their preparations and planning for the Olympics. Despite that fact, a higher percentage of 37 percent were lagging behind with their preparations for the London 2012 Olympics.
Graham Pickett, who is the head of travel, hospitality and tourism at Deloitte made the following statement: "Next year is going to remain very challenging and whilst the Games will not provide all the answers, it is an opportunity few can afford to ignore."
The Olympic Games will be taking place next year from July 27th to August 12th. As the event is highly esteemed in the world of sports, numerous sports fans are expected to fill London before the start of the Games. For the purpose
of maintaining a smooth flow of affairs, it will be important for all concerned businesses to fully equip themselves with the necessary staff as well as tools that will be required to facilitate the large influx of people that will be present during that time.
2012 will bring the Games for a third time to the city of London. It will make London the first city in the world that has the honour of staging the prestigious sporting event on its soil three times. The first time that London played host to the Olympic
Games was in 1908 while the second time the Olympics came to London in 1948.
