Question:

More than two checking accounts?

So I lived at home and had a checking/savings account with the Army based credit union there. Then I moved for college and opened another checking/savings account with that army based credit union. The only problem is if someone from back home needs to give me money or vica versa, they can't because its two different credit unions. I want to open one like a Wachovia account (because they are everywhere).

Is that bad to have 3 checking/saving accounts?!

  1. I work for Wachovia and I see alot of people who have more than one account with more than one bank. It would be a really good idea to have the account with a large bank. Just be aware that if somebody needs to get you money they will have to go into the bank and deposit it. Even if they have an account with the same bank. Federal law will not allow transfers between accounts that do not have that persons name on both. Just thought I would give you a heads up. A good thing about wachovia is they offer online banking and you can set it up so you can transfer funds between your wachovia account and your other accounts outside of wachovia. You can even open the account online or over the phone and you have 30 days to make a deposit to the account.

  2. Personally I have several accounts as well, I dont like to keep all my money in one account but thats just me.  I dont see a problem with it.

  3. I have two accounts as well, one I kept open when I was station to Japan, and the other I opened at where I live now!  I get by just fine with the two of then, and they will electronic funds transfer (EFT) money back and for a few times a months for free!
