More traffic through domain or free subdomain?

Anyone know if there is more traffic going to a paid website (.coms, .nets, .orgs) or free hosting subdomain one (.freehostia.com, .invisionplus.net)?

I would like to tell you that traffic does not depend on domain or subdomain you use. One with free website/domain can get more traffic than one with paid domain or webspace. There are no. of blogs on blogspot that are rolling up with huge traffic. The base to this is the way in which promote your site, how well is your website exposed, how unique is your content. If you write good content or provide good service you can have good traffic provided you promote your site well and give it a good exposure by using proper SEO techniques.
