My husband wants to go to this resort for our holiday in April. I'm wondering if anyone has been and:

Is it safe to travel/stay there?

How is the weather in April?

What are the activities in the area?

How clean is the resort?

Thanks for the help!!

  1. Morgans Rock is one of the best resorts in San Juan del Sur. It is very clean and the staff is very nice. Activities are really endless, apart from that, the view is amazing. Its also an eco-lodge, which i loved, during april they have trips to La Flor, which is a beach a little south of San Juan del Sur, in which some endangered turtles go lay their eggs. If i remember correctly, they also have a private beach where the turtles lay eggs around. The rooms are like bungalows, mine was built around a tree which looked spectacular. SJDS is also a good spot because the city or Rivas is only 20min. away, there are 5-6 other beautiful beaches just all around 30min. away (North and South), you can drive to Granada, Leon, Managua, and Masaya, or take a bus or interlocal (a faster bus that doesn't make too many stops). The weather is April is perfect, but if you arrive at Managua (in the Augusto C. Sandino International Airport) it will be extremely hot and humid. But, since you'll be going to San Juan del Sur you won't feel that for long, the weather is very fresh there and the water is chilly before 4-5pm which is good because of the tropical heat. Travel is safe, Nicaragua has been rated at the safest country in Central America for many years not (google it). Just take casual precautions, don't flash  expensive things, keep aware of your surroundings, pickpocketting it the most common petty crime here in Nicaragua but i have never seen or heard about anything bad happening in SJDS, its not a big town, and the area around the Hotel is very secure.

Activities are the usual, diving, fishing, swimming, power boats, taking trips to nearby Nature/Natural Reserves, visiting volcanoes, surfing is great in the beaches North of San Juan del Sur, there it is more relaxed, theres kayaking, hiking, a tour of their beautiful butterfly farm, nature walks, birdwatching, biking, massages, yoga and snorkeling.

  2. I don't know much about that resort but check this link for more about nicaragua, and how it could be a great vacation at a cool price.
