Morgan Hoffmann aims another good finish at the Nationwide Children's Hospital Invitational
Morgan Hoffmann is set to make a confident start at the Nationwide Children's Hospital Invitational at the OSU Golf Club, slated to start from July 26, 2012.
This will be his third start in the tournament, as he participated in 2009 and 2010 editions as an amateur. He shared the eighth spot and tied for the ninth position, respectively, in his past appearances.
"I'm really comfortable with this course and I really love it," Hoffmann said.
Right after his strong finish in 2010, he turned pro and started playing professional golf around the world.
This year, he does not have the full-time status to play on the Web.com Tour. However, he still made it to five events through Monday qualifiers and listed above the midway cut line in each of them.
He even recorded top-10 finishes in a row in the last two tournaments that he has played – he tied for the fourth position at the United Leasing Championship and shared the ninth spot in the Utah Championship held two weeks ago.
Therefore, he is now ranked among the hot favourites to record a victory in Ohio. He now plans to earn more entries for Web.com Tour and make it to the top 25 players on the money list. That way, he will earn a full-time card for the 2013 PGA Tour season.
"My goal is to play out here the rest of the year and try to get into that top 25," Hoffmann said. "The ultimate goal is to be on the PGA TOUR next year and whatever way I can get there whether it's through the Web.com Tour or q-school that's what I want
to do".
He currently lives in Jupiter, Florida, along with his friends, Rickie Fowler and Cameron Tringale. Both Fowler and Tringale are PGA Tour regulars.
However, all the three friends do not see each other often because of tight schedules on their respective tours.
"Ricky's been a great friend and he's helped me a lot," Hoffmann said. "It's great to have him to go to talk about things because he's got a lot of knowledge and has been there at a high level".
