Morgane Rothon pockets Women’s 1500m freestyle gold: 2012 French Short Course Nationals
Morgane Rothon of Alliance Dijon Natation pocketed gold medal of the Women’s 1500m freestyle on day three of 2012 French Short Course Nationals on Saturday, November 17.
Rothon exceeded expectations of her supporters by capturing the title of the 60-lap discipline. With her invincible efforts, she remained in a comfortable lead over Aurelie Muller of CN Sarreguemines from the start and reached the finishing wall for gold
medal.
She remained almost 50 metres ahead of her toughest challenger and posted a time of 16 minutes and 14.33 seconds.
The gold medallist was followed by Muller, who was 17.24 seconds behind and reached the finishing blockade for silver medal by producing a time of 16 minutes and 31.57 seconds.
The second position holder was followed by Marion Brunel of Dauphins Toulouse OEC, who was almost 12 seconds slower and touched the wall for bronze medal by producing a time of 16 minutes and 43.84 seconds.
Fourth fastest spot of the race was obtained by Julie Berthier of Mulhouse On, who stayed hardly two strokes away from her former finisher and surfaced on the finishing end by posting a time of 16 minutes and 44.15 seconds.
Berthier was followed by Caroline Jouisse of Aquatic Club Bourges, who stayed 2.95 seconds behind and concluded her race in fifth place by submitting a time of 16 minutes and 47.10 seconds.
Sixth spot of the race was obtained by Adeline Furst of Dauphins Obernai, who was 0.19 seconds behind and ended her race in a time of 16 minutes and 47.29 seconds.
Furst was followed by Anne-Gabriela Bouteloup of Alliance Dijon Natation, who stayed prominently slower from her former finisher and occupied seventh pot of the race by producing a time 16 minutes and 49.01 seconds.
Last spot of the race was obtained by Alizee Morel of Olympic Nice Natation, who ended her race in a time of 16 minutes and 55.48 seconds.
In addition, Rothon was overjoyed with her top finish in the race and said that she would struggle hard to obtain the same at upcoming World Short Course Championships in Istanbul, Turkey.
