  1. I feel sorry for the Mormons who died for the right to be polygamists, only to have their church abandon it because it became politically infeasible to keep it and have Utah become a state.

If I were a Mormon, I would worry about what else might become politically infeasible in the future.

I acknowledge that the Church of Later Day Saints now persecutes its members who dare to practice polygamy, and, indeed, work to find and stop members who do....

    ...and I think that's sad.

They don't support it, they are enemies of it, and that's really, really sad.

  2. You're misled... Do you know that mormonism believes in polygamy in the CELESTIAL KINGDOM?? Do some research..sealed is sealed forever, (according to Mormonism)

The LDS Church STILL teaches polygamy as a tenet. It is NOT, however, practiced today because of the LAWS against it. That doesn’t mean it isn’t a tenet, which of course means IT IS CONDONED. They practice it every day, in Mormon Temples all over the world.

Is it not hypocritical to criticize those practicing POLYGAMY when in fact, many of them (church hierarchy) are practicing SPIRITUAL POLYGAMY even today?

Dallin Oaks remarried and was sealed to his second wife. The sealing to his FIRST wife, who passed away, WAS NOT CANCELLED. He is a spiritual polygamist, and because of the Mormon belief that marriage is eternal, and going BY that belief, he will live in the Celestial Kingdom WITH HIS TWO WIVES as a POLYGAMIST.

Plus all the polygamy of the past.

I want no part of that!

  3. I'm not sure how old you are or if you are a Mormon, but Mormons (LDS) still believe in polygamy.  Read your own doctrine, polygamy is essential for eternal salvation, LDS believes it is practiced in the celestial kingdom by God!!!  The only reason polygamy was abolished is because it became illegal.  If it was made legal again it would be practiced by all mormons in short time.  And yes, I mean LDS not FLDS.  I am well aware of the differences (and yes there are some big differences.)

Anyways your reasoning that God commanded polygamy to build up the population is flawed.  If that is so why did Joseph Smith only have one child (as your church also falsely claims.)  Since JS had 35 wives why not have 35 kids minimum?  No, polygamy WAS and IS TODAY all about s*x.  Every major cult leader in history has used their power to s***w loads of women and face the facts, thats exactly what JS was.

  4. aren't the mormons in texas still doing it?????

and i know muslims still do it

  5. I am an ex-UT-Mormon'LDS and I can tell you I was raised in the 70's and 80's and some of the 90's and the mormons still believe in Polygamy even if it was abolished and still treat their women like they did when the churhc was established.

Your church is so cofusing, you believe polygamy will come back when Jesus does (you may want to look that one up to) and it will return to the earth, and it is required for the highest kingdom, so how did God become a God without it? and how is Jesus goign to be in the celestial kingdom without wives? Its restored truth, but what was restored but a question mark.

  6. I don't think Utah got the memo

  7. It hasn't been abolished - it's still listed in their false "scriptures" - they're just waiting until they become Gods of their own planets before they take on more wives.

  8. Because people are too stupid to look, or they're stuborn and dont want to know the truth.

  9. Because when people fear  or do not understand something, they try and ridicule it in an attempt to elevate their own position.   A basic psychological mechansim for the insecurre.

  10. Because there will always be people out here in the real world, who think that they have the right to put down those religions that disagree with their nice orderly ''little view'' of life.

Those religions are all ''strange'', and  have things about them that are  weird!

Catholics have a Pope, who is ''christ on earth???'

Protestants who think it is okay to wear white sheets, and ''go calling at night'', on their Black neighbors!!

Fundy churches who think that Satan planted dinosaur bones to ''test them, and, that the earth is ONLY 6000 years old!!

And, there are those who pick on the Mormons in ways that are rude and ignorant, arrogant and disrespectful.

There are people whop hate the very fact that this church exists at all!!

I suggest that they go to mental health, and then , get a life!!

  11. Mormons will be associated with polygamy because, even though abolished, it was still practiced. The fact that it was practiced at all, despite what God says in the bible, is another reason for it being a reoccurring label.  In fact, when the leaders of the church abolished it some Mormons were so stuck in their ways, they continued and started their own spin off churches.

  12. People are ignorant to what's present and what's past.  Mormons practiced polygamy in the past, and the mainstream ones revoked that act eons ago.  People who are against Mormons still maintain that they practice this... it's not so.  The more mud-slinging haters can do, the better for them and their sad existences.

  13. Because there are many break-away Mormon sub-groups that still practice polygamy.

Actually, I don't know any other group that does practice polygamy, even if their church publicly denounces the practice.  It's almost solely a Mormon sub-group activity.  That certainly warrants a connection.
