Morning Line’s chips removed, come back awaited
Winner of a number of Grade 1 races, Morning Line, had his chips removed on August 17, 2011, and would make a complete recovery in almost no time so that he can soon reclaim the tracks as his return is nearly inevitable and expected positively.
Morning Line is a four-year-old American born to top sire, Tiznow, and dam, Indian Snow, trained by Nicholas Zito.
He has participated in many races to date and has had four quite significant wins.
He has won 2 Pennsylvania Derbies and bagged a close runner-up position in the Grade 1 Breeders’ Cup Dirt Mile in 2010.
His 2011 season kicked off with a victory in the Grade1 Metropolitan Handicap, racing with a sore foot.
Morning Line has had a flourishing career with total earnings of $1,122,300.
Once Morning Line had the Salvatore Mile under his belt and had Hall of Fame trainer, Nick Zito, convinced that he was in full form for the Whitney Handicap.
On the tracks of Saratoga, NY, Morning Line finished in the end which instantly made the jockey and the trainer suspicious of the horse’s performance which was way below par and he was sent in for x-rays that very week.
Since the event, the horse has not been himself and was advised to be sent to Lane’s End which is supposedly the best farm in the world, where he was to be further analysed, diagnosed and then treated accordingly.
He was there for healing up and recovering so that he could et back to his top-notch racing form and continue his illustrious career.
Initially there were doubts about the colt’s surgery but eventually he was operated by Dr. Bramlage at the Rood and Riddle Equine Hospital in Lexington, KY.
The doctor removed the chips from his knees which were previously found and further reported that Morning Line was expected to make full recovery and get back to racing pretty soon.
All his connections are anxiously waiting for Morning Line’s comeback, even though it is obvious that he will not be able to race straight ahead.
He will need galloping drills, further trainings, work on his strength, practice immensely, before he can actually take over the tracks.
This all might take a while but his trainer, Nicholas Zito, his jockey and his owners are deeply overwhelmed by all that Morning Line had to go through, hence, they are ready to wait to avoid flaring up his recently recovered injury or run into any other
forms of complications.
Even his fans and those willing to bet on him would have to wait for the right moment, which of course would not be far as the doctors have really not shown any reservations about his racing again, other than being a little precautionary.
We all can only pray for the horse for a speedy and commendable recovery and wish him good luck during the process and in his next race.
