Ok so school just started and I am going to high school now so i have to be out my front door before 7:00am. How long do you exactly wait to do the morning Prayer? Since the sun comes up at 6:57 i was wondering if it is harm to do it around 5:50am so that i may have time to get ready for school. I live in Atlanta Georgia and i don't know when the start time for the morning Prayer is.

  1. Whenever you want, you're praying to an imaginary figure.

  2. It depends on where you are in the US. If you follow this link you can find the prayer times depending on your location. You can't pray until it's actually FAJR. So pray between the FAJR and SHOROOK times listed....

    Nichole

  3. Prayer can be done at any time...........as long as your prayer is sincere.......and done with all your heart.

He is always awake and listening for our prayers and praises.

  4. It starts before 5 am around 4:55.

Fajr means "dawn," so anytime before sunrise.

  5. the prayer time is different for different regions. here in saudi arabia by 3:30 we hear the adhaan and this is in the east in the west(ie,jedda, mecca etc.) its by 4:30. don't you hear the adhan? the fajr time is from adhan till sunrise.

but anyway you should pray your fajr salah b4 sunrise.and i don't think it's a problem anyway, cuz it's just 2 rak'a. read short soorahs  that's what i do cuz during winters the adhaan here is by 4:55or5:00 and our school begins at 6:00 it's difficult to reach school by 6:00 the bus comes to my stop by 5:30. so pray 2 rak'a with short soorah

  6. go to Islamiccity.com/prayertimes and type in where u live bcuz it varies.

  7. Salam for you my dear friend. In Islam, the mandatory morning prayer which is called shubuh should be done before the sun rises in your home maybe between 4.00 AM upto 4..50 AM. Before mandatory morning prayer we have a non mandatory morning prayer which is called fajr prayer  for 2 raka'ats just 10 minutes before the azzan for shubuh prayer. After shubuh mandatory morning prayer we have also non mandatory dhuha prayer for asking rezeki or subsistence to Allah which is usually done for 2 raka'ats after the sun rise(7.00 AM) and before noon for zuhur prayer.(11.50 AM)

  8. Well the tip of the sun above the horizon is what is considered sunrise and fajr.....that sunrise listed at 6:57 is not the same as fajr....i think thats when the sun is fully above the horizon...i'm not sure though.

Here is a list of your prayer times.

  9. 4:30, do it anytime before sun rise.

  10. Well the fajr prayer normally starts around 4:30 these days so keep track of the timings from now on.

  11. First of all, you can't pray a prayer before the allotted time. If you live in Atlanta, as of the first of August the Fajr prayer is at 5:15, and changes about a minute each day (i.e. add a minute each day), so you can definitely pray before you leave the house.

If I were you, I'd print the prayer times off of the internet and hang them in your room. Go to Islamicity.com, then click Prayer Times, then punch in your city or zip code, and voila!

May Allah keep your iman strong and your body healthy. From one teenage Muslim girl to another, I admire what you're doing. Stay strong.
