Morning Royalty to crush competition in the Kildare Post INH Flat Race at Punchestown
Morning Royalty’s performance is highly anticipated in the Kildare Post INH Flat Race at Punchestown, which is scheduled to take place on 26th April, 2012.
The five-year-old gelding will be competing against eleven other competitors for a purse of €7,590 over a distance of two miles, on a surface that has been labelled heavy.
The son of King´s Theatre, out of Portryan Native, started his racing career here at Punchestown on 3rd May, 2011.
It was a solid start, finishing as a runner-up, five lengths behind the Paul Nolan trained King Vuvuzela, in the Finlay Motor Group 4yo INH FlatRace (Mares & Geldings), where he was teamed with jockey, Mr. B. O'Neill.
Trained by W.P Mullins for owner, Henry Murphy, the runner secured placed positions in four out of five starts.
The bay gelding, whelped on 5th March, 2007, bagged the first victory of his career in the closing race of 2011.
Bred by Miss Marie Murphy, the gelding raced as a favourite with the odds of 5 to 4. Paired with jockey, Mr P. W. Mullins, he truly excelled on the track.
The duo bolted through the track and defeated, Ted Veale, by a huge margin of 17 lengths in the Valleymount GAA Supporting Punchestown (Pro/Am) 4yo INH Flat Race at Punchestown on 11th December, 2011.
Due to the fact that he succeeded here, he is expected to deliver an encore of this performance today. He will race as a favourite with a chance of 11 to 4 to win.
Buckers Bridge, son of Pelder, out of mare La Fiere Dame, is currently on a hat-trick as he has already tucked two victories safely under his belt.
The gelding whelped on 1st January, 2006, defeated, Social Overdrive, by 3 lengths in the 5yo Geldings Maiden (Div 2) at Maralin on 12th November, 2011, where he raced as a favourite with the odds of
6 to 4.
The Henry De Bromhead trained gelding entered the Bennettsbridge Point-To-Point INH Flat Race at Gowran Park with the same momentum.
He maintained his composure throughout, and defeated More Madness by 3 ¾ lengths on 10th
March, 2012.
It is speculated that, Morning Royalty, will emerge victorious, but considering Buckers Bridge is in extremely good form, it will not be an easy victory for him. Buckers Bridge will be a thorn in Morning Royalty’s path to victory.
