Morning after pill/problems with period?

sunday night/monday morning around 2am i had unprotected s*x, tuesday morning around 9am i got my period. or so i thought. it only lasted a day. i havent bled at all since tuesday night. i asked yesterday if i should take the morning pill anyway since i had gotten my period and was told no. i still have a few hours to take the morning after pill and i was jsut wondering if i should take it anyway because my period only lasted a day.

ive had problems with my period for a few months now it only comes for a day or two and is very light. it didn't come for a month or two at all..i think it was because of my birth control (i took a pregnancy test in the beginning of july and i wasn't pregnant) and then got a regular period that lasted for a few days at the beginning of august.

i went off my regular birth control and had to take the morning after pill a few times this month (i know, its bad and i'm not supposed to but it happened and i can't change that. its my fiance, i'm not a w***e as someone implied when i asked about taking the plan b after getting my period). i've heard that plan b can mess with your period.

so should is there a possibility i'm pregnant?

should i still take the morning after pill before the 72 hours run out?

i'd only like to do what is neccessary because i really can't afford to waste any money.

thank you for any serious advice. its much appreciated.

  1. Take a pregnancy test. It will pick up if you are or not!

  2. MHHMMM well i didnt read da whole thing but im pretty sure tht if ur on da pill ur periods r weird like sumtimes u wont get a period for like a couple monthes but im not sure about  da periods being like a day long u should rly talk to ur doctor about it or a frend tht nos more about this stuff

  3. You must be having contraception problems.  See my source.

  4. stop having pre-martial s*x, and you wont have this problem anymore

  5. Use birth control pills correctly and you won't have that problem. Go see your doctor.

  6. Check with your doctor.  If you find that the 72 hrs is over there is always the IUD.  This can be inserted upto 5 days after s*x.  OK, you may have a slightly heavier period but that is better than an unwanted pregnancy.  I've used an IUD after both my children as long term contraception as the pill sends me bonkers.  periods are heavier but if it puts your mind at rest.  have you considered contraceptive injections, i couldn't use them but it means then that you haven't got to remember to take the pill and you don't haveto worry about the monthly 'break'.

  7. Well if you are really worried you may be pregnant take the pill! You have to realize that if you do not want a baby right now it will cost more and be more painful to have an abortion. You should really consider some other type of BC because taking the plan B should not be your method of BC. Try looking into the marina it's an IUD and it last for 5 yrs, or even plain condoms would help. So if it where me I would take the pill and call my Dr. to get on BC and fast.

Good Luck, hope all works out for ya.

  8. go see a doctor

but just IMHO if you can't handle the reproducing factor of having s*x then you shouldn't have s*x until you know for a fact the dude is marriage material and he willing to settle down with you.

  9. i doubt your pregnant it just sounds like your period is irregular. but if you still think you are i would just go ahead and take them, everyone says thier bad for you which they are but if you only take it once it should'nt really do anything, except kill the baby.
