Question:

Morning or evening wedding

So I like the idea of getting married around 10am so that we can catch our flight out to Italy in the afternoon, but lately I have been thinking that an evening wedding around 4 would be nice too. It may be dark by the time we dance and I think that it would be romantic with candles and dancing outsside with the moonlight and all. But I would hate waiting all day to get married?

Any sugestions?

  1. morning can be tough, especially 10 am to get everyone up and ready, then to the location.  That includes you and your party and all the guests.

You could do a later afternoon wedding, maybe have it run a bit later, and catch the last flight out!

  2. 10 a.m.? can you imagine the time you would have to get up to get ready in the morning? i think 4 is better as long as its on a saturday. if its 4 on a friday night... that might be a little inconvenient for your guest. good luck and i hope you find what works for you!

  3. I have never heard of a wedding as early as 10 am.  Personally it took me so long to get my hair done that I would have needed to be up and getting ready at about 6 am.  Never mind that I was actually awake at 5:30 because I was too excited to sleep!  The earliest wedding I've ever been too/heard of started at 1 pm.  If you are having any out of town guests and have the wedding at 10 am you make it very difficult to drive there the same day, they either have to stay over the night before or not come.  If you wait until later in the day they can choose to spend the night or maybe leave the reception a little early.  My vote would be for a later wedding.

  4. It depends on what you have to do the day of. If you are getting hair and make-up done as well, I would wait until later.

I am glad my husband and I waited a day before flying out. We were worn out with the wedding and reception - I would hate to have had to fly out the same day! And going to Italy is probably a LONG flight. By the time you get to the airport, standing around, waiting, you're going to be exhausted.
