My grandmother (from Fez) used to make a sweet bread, mostly around Ramadan, with raisins, sometimes peanuts, and seeds like anise. She'd brush egg on top so that it came out of the oven all glossy brown. I don't remember what the bread itself was called, but we use to make "fecks" with it (slicing the bread thin and toasting it in the oven to make kind of crackers to dip into tea or coffee. I can generally make the bread but there always seems to be something missing in terms of spice. Does anyone have a recipe they can share? Thanks.
