  1. It depends where you go. Some places have real toillets others don't. Most places have the kind of toillet you have to crouch over. It's takes a few days to get used to, I recommend for the first while to not wear sock and lift your pant legs as high as you can.

For the sinks it's pretty much the same... some bathrooms have sinks and others don't. You might find only faucets besides the toillet and a bucket.

Same goes for showers, many don't have showers.

Public bathrooms don't have toillet papers. Keep a small pack of tissues on you at all times in case you have to go in an unknown place. Some people have it in their home, especially when they know a foreigner is coming over ;). But don't risk it, keep tissues on you.

If you go in a hotel, then I don't know... I always stay with relatives when I go to Morroco.

  2. If you want paper, carry a packet of Kleenex with you. It's better to be prepared. And maybe a small keychain flashlight, some toilets are very dark, for example in some bus stations in smaller cities. Most bathrooms have sinks but some don't have soap or just a bar of shared soap and perhaps a cloth towel. If there is a bathroom attendant who is stationed in the public bathroom area, you should tip one dirham, some bathrooms with stools are cleaned constantly, unlike the U.S., where they may be cleaned once or twice a day. The best thing to bring with you can bring is medicine for traveler's die-rrhea because if you get sick, squat toilets are no fun at all.

  3. depends where you go? if you stay at hotels then they will have western toilets, but if you go to rural places or public loos in smaller towns or older cities they wont have western loos.

moroccan toilets are better any way, much more hygienic, no chance of catching crabs or any other STD's. and yes its better to use water, freshen your self up and cleanese you properly rather then just paper.!

i always carry hand sanitizer with me, one of those small bottles, and as most women do carry lots of tissues :D

be well prepared for any scenario.

  4. Many of the public toilets do not have toilet paper.  Some of them do have sinks, but there is no soap and no towels to dry your hands on.  When I was there last year I made sure to take small packs of kleenex, diaper wipes and hand sanitizer with me.  If you are forced to use on of the toilets where you have to squat just make sure to lift your pants legs, dress, etc. up high so they don't get wet.  These types of toilets almost always have a water faucet and a bucket for cleaning oneself and for pouring water down the toilet when you are finished.

  5. Most Moroccan homes have the old fashion toilet(in the Pic) but they have the normal toilet seat as well.
