I am single traveller, and would like to go spain, portugal and morocco, but really don't know if it is dangerous to go there alone or not. because i heard some people said i should not go spain alone and i have no idea about Morocco at all, since my dad just give me suggestion to stop by morocco.

Please give me suggestion, if it is dangerous to go there alone or not, and which part of these countries i should visit.

I have no idea about Morocco,

Portugal- i know only Lisbon and Azores

for Spain I am thinking to go Barcelona and Madrid.

Is there any place to visit and how many day I should go?

**I did several solo trip before and i can only speak english.

  1. Well, I live in Spain and is safe for tourists on the most of the places. You can plain a trip around Spain without any danger. You should avoid getting drunk if you will travel alone. Surely you will find more english speaker on the plain or in the hotel that can go with you or with whom share experiences. If you need some advises or any info my email is srk@hotmail.es.

About Morocco, I would never travel alone there

    Good luck!!!

  2. Most of my family live in Morocco, and it's not the place to be mono-lingual.

They'll accept French, but if you don't speak that or Arabic, you'll need some sort of translator.

It's very like Spain in the North of Morocco, but it gets more culturally African the more South you go. Obviously. Also, there's plenty of beggars and thieves as in every country, so watch yourself.

  3. Spain is good but I can't say the same for Morocco.

  4. Don't know why everyone is dissing Morocco, it is an awesome place. As a solo female traveller it will be somewhat difficult, but still a lot of fun, and definitely not dangerous. As far as language, learning a little bit of very simple french will go a long way, as will bringing a french phrasebook.

But once there it will be awesome, the country has everything. Awesome food, mountains for hiking and waterfalls, beautiful old Islamic architecture at Marrakesh and Fez, watersports and a nice beach at Agadir, plus the saharan desert, and kasbahs at places like Ouarzazate. Chechaouen is also a very beautiful town that you should visit.

I met plenty of western women who were travelling there too and they all enjoyed it with few problems.

  5. i wouldnt recommend morocco alone. when i was in spain i heard some not very nice stories about it there!!

    just my opinion!

but if you cant speak the language id stick to spain if i were you :)

  6. Wrong time, wrong place kind of thing. Depends where you go as well. If you don't take risks you should be fine. Perhaps try a tour www.explore.co.uk are good and do that area. For Morocco cover up.

  7. Spain,,,,,,,Yes

    Morocco.......No

  8. Spain is a very safe country (in comparison to the UK anyway) the worst you'd encounter is pickpocketing.   Obviously it's helpful to speak the language but you'll get by without it in Spain.    I knew a lot of very nice Moroccan immigrants in Madrid but I've never been so I can't say.  Granada is also a wonderful city - you should visit the Alhambra.
