Morris mini badge question??

i have just brought a 1972 mini at the weekend,the log book says it is registered as a morris mini 998 cc,the previous owners have modified the car e.g bucket seats,roll cage etc.i want to restore it to original spec, orange indicaters,interior etc,did the company morris make a badge to suit on the boot lid?? it has a 850 brit leyland at the mo,and doesnt go.thanks for any help

  1. Despite being still called a Morris Mini, a 1972 model would actually be a 'British Leyland'  Mini.  as for badging, it would have a 'MINI' badge on the boot lid and the BL logo little square badge on each side front wing IIRC near the bottom behind the wheel, the badge is illustrated on the Wiki page here:- http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/British_Ley...

    If you click on the Mini link to the left of the badge and scroll down the Mini page there is a pic of a 1275GT where you can just see the location of the badge.
