  1. It's another cost cutting measure, so most supermarkets will follow suit like the banks do, but one usually abstains because they are guaranteed extra custom!


  2. Tesco certainly are. My local Sainsbury is also.

    Personally, I tend to use a card, but know that a couple of friends of mine use cheques if, for example, it's a Friday and they're not getting paid till the Monday. Perhaps not recommendable... but I can imagine a lot of people do that and any supermarket who will take them is probably going to take the small but present cheque paying custom!

  3. i guess so.. bank has offered me a credit card now. so i guess it's all money saving.. also to prevent fraud.. and save on admin costs... or perhaps get us all in debt.. who knows.

    a friend sent away a cheque for £7000 years ago, was intercepted in the post, and the theiving *coughs* doctored the cheque to make it payable to them..

    down to the bank paying out anyway.

  4. Who on EARTH uses cheques?! Get a Switch, Solo, or Electron card. If you can get a cheque guarantee card you can get one of those.
