West Brom midfielder James Morrison is delighted with the team’s home form this season and hopes they can turn The Hawthorns into a fortress.
The Baggies have enjoyed a flying start to their Premier League season, and have managed 14 points from 7 games. The club is tied on points with Tottenham and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Everton-c13019 at the 6th spot.
The club played its Premier League opener against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 at home, and dished out a surprise thrashing as they cruised to an impressive 3-0 victory over the Reds.
What followed was a fighting and quality performance at White Hart Lane, where they grabbed a last minute equalizer courtesy of James Morrison and shared the spoils with Tottenham in a 1-1 score line.
They next hosted an impressive and in-form Everton at home, and again managed an easy win, scoring two goals over the Merseyside outfit.
West Brom have only lost one game in the season so far. The Baggies were at the receiving end of a 3-0 thrashing courtesy of Fulham at Craven Cottage, but were urged by manager Steve Clarke to bounce back and recover their form. West Brom later won against
Reading at home and then drew with Aston Villa this past weekend.
The club has been a formidable force at home, and have not lost a home game in the Premier League. Goalkeeper http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Ben-Foster-c7445 has been immense in front of goal, conceding only 3 goals in 4 home games so far.
Midfielder James Morrison believes that the club’s home form will help its cause for a top 6 finish in the league. He said:
“At the start of the season we wanted to make this a tough place to come and improve on our home form. Last season our away form was tremendous really and our home form was a bit iffy. That’s what we’ve been wanting to do and we’re doing it."
“If you look at the team everyone is an international player. We’ve got quality now so credit to the team and the club. I just think that’s down to confidence. When you get wins it gives you confidence and that’s what it’s doing.”
“The manager says ‘just play your game’ and we’re playing with confidence.”
