West Bromwich Albion midfielder James Morrison believes that West Brom has the opportunity to win silverware this season, and is targeting the Capital One Cup.
West Brom will face Yeovil Town tonight in an away game and the team has been told by manager Steve Clarke to ‘attack’ the competition and go for the win.
Morrison holds the same opinion and believes that the Baggies should build on their good start to the Premier League campaign and show the same fight and character in the cup competition.
The midfielder helped West Brom build on their opening day victory against Liverpool at the Hawthorns in a game that saw the Baggies win 3-0. http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 were completed dismantled by the Birmingham club, who a week later, travelled to White Hart Lane and managed
to secure a draw against Tottenham after having conceded a goal.
West Brom equalized against Spurs in the dying moments of the game as Morrison pounced upon a loose ball and found the back of the net. The late goal sent the away fans into frenzy and West Brom celebrated as if they had won the league.
The club now turns its attention to the League Cup, and Morrison is confident that they can win it. The Baggies will face League One leaders Yeovil Town at their stadium tonight.
Speaking to the club’s official website, the 26-year old Scottish international said:
"Big clubs try to bring young players through in the Capital One Cup and it's an opportunity for us. There is no better feeling than winning a trophy and getting to Wembley."
The player the spoke about the ankle injury he suffered in the weekend’s game against Tottenham.
"I rolled my ankle in the first 30 seconds but didn't want to come off. I said I was okay and wanted to carry on.”
"I looked at the clock and for 20 minutes I didn't really touch the ball. But I got through it and got my rewards at the end."
West Brom are expected to play a number of youth players in the game against Yeovil and Morrison is confident that the players will deliver when given the opportunity.
