Morroco Holiday?

Question

I am going on holiday to Morocco and am staying in both Essouria and Marakesh, I want to travel into the Atlas mountains from Marakesh but want some advice on the best way to do this and ideas of cost.

Is there public transport or must I go in a pre arranged group, also where can i organise this if necessary.

Equally, is alcohol widely avaliable in Morocco? I am aware it is a muslim country but just wasnt sure on their attitude to alocohol consumption by Westeners.

I'm not talking about getting drunk, just enjoying wine with a meal.

yeah, public transport would be cool( a taxi would be good) and I'm not really sure about the cost...sorry...

Alcohol is available in Morocco, no worries hehe...

Essaouira is really nice by the way

There is public transport available.  You can take a bus from Essouira to Marrakesh and vice versa.  There are taxis available in both cities to get around.  They are very cheap in Essouira.  Liquor is usually sold inside Marjane(the big supermarket) and there are some liquor stores.  Some of the "americanized restaurants do serve alcohol and I know that in Essouira there is a bar located on the beach..
