Mortal Kombat Armageddon Wii, create a character?

Ok, I made my own character (Female) and i saved it, then when i went to Kombat, Practice... the character in the left was Khameleon. I thought we could create characters and play them???

PLEASE HELP, im with the Wii right now!!!
