  1. tell us what country you are in ..the question will have a different meaning here in uk


  2. do you have the grooved tool so the mortar doesn't just go on flat?

  3. Janet:  Are you using  thinset mortar?  Have you added enough water? are you adding  latex additive to the dry mix mortar.  See Link below

  4. Maybe the mortar is too dry.  Try mixing a little water into it.
