I went on vacation and my dumpster lid flew open during a storm and the dumpster filled with water so there are tons of mosquitoes in my back yard. I got rid of all the standing water and now they are still lurking around in my backyard. I'm going to buy the OFF Power Pad Lamp and see if that works... has anyone tried it? Does it work? I am also thinking of buying a bug zapper!! Help anyone!!! I have family coming in for the 4th of July!! Thanks in advance!!!

  1. the bug zapper DOSE NOT WORK.they will keep coming back. put the off lamp in each coner of your yard. that shood work

  2. The things you mention will surely help.  Just this evening I was in my yard being dinner for  a herd of mosquitos, and I remembered reading that a fabric softener sheet in your pocket repels mosquitos. Hallelujah!!! It works!!!  So just have 'em handy and have everybody slip one (I just used 1/2 of a sheet) in their pocket.  Good luck and happy 4th!

  3. I have the off powerpad lamp. It's ok, but it's limited to that one specific area where you place it, at least that's how it works for me.

And I think it's a great idea to buy the bug zapper. First off, they work well, and second its fun hearing those pesky bugs get electrocuted.

I also recommend that you buy some $1 citronella candles, and place them on the table and on the ground by your family's feet. Citronella is a natural insect repellent, and the candles work fairly well.

Remember, I am not discouraging you from buying the powerpad lamp, because it DOES work. haha. =)

  4. Bug zappers work great, you do need an air hose to blow it off everyday or every other day, and you need to leave it on for several days, But if you could get a Bat house and put it in a tree or somewhere high and dry. you will get rid of more bugs safely and cheap. Each bat will eat more then what a can of bug killer will get in a single night.

  5. I have a bug zapper for flies and stuff around the house and outside it looks like this http://www.spaduck.com/Bug%20Zapper.jpg

just press the button (a little red light comes on)

and it shocks the bug and you'll see small sparks from the bug being shocked than it dies!

Don't hit people with it though it hurts lmao

    :P
