Mosquitoes?

Question

Is it true that mosquitoes are mostly not bite you if you sweat?

Is there anything you can rub on your skin to prevent them from bitting?

If you wear long sleeves and cover you self up, will they likely not bite?

My cousin wants me to go pick blueberries for the summer as a volunteering job with her but I don't like mosquitoes.

you can take a teaspoon of listerine and put it in a spay bottle mixed with water. they will not come close to you with that on nor will they come close to the area that you are in if you spary it around where ya'll will be. this has been a life saver! i know that it sounds crazy but it will work and you will be smelling minty fresh.

Mosquitoes will bite if you are sweating!

They can bite through long sleeve also.

long sleeves don't help.

but if you're looking for bug spray to wear, make sure it has DEET in it. like OFF! brand for deep woods really works.

yeah i hate mosquitoes, and i'm allergic, one bit gets the size of an apple and gets super swollen.

I think eating garlic helps deter them but the best thing to do is wear a very light long sleeve shirt and spray your shirt with bug spray to minimize the contact with your skin. You can also wear a straw hat with a brim and spray it as well.

They can bite through JEANS. If I get bit, that's where they usually go. Rarely on my arms. Weird since I usually have a t-shirt when I'm around them. They still bite when they can.

Insect repellent. Check pharmacies. Ask your cousin to go with you. 2 people looking for a few things will be faster. Have fun blueberry picking!

you can try spraying listerine around you (the original kind, not one with sugar or sweetener in it) and i've heard lavender oil works, and traditional bugspray works too, and they do not bite through jeans, so if it's not too hot you can wear those =]
