O.K. heres the question. Mosses and lichens begin growing on bare ground in pieces of weathered rock. Predict what will happen next and explain why.

  1. they break the rock down and and when they die they begin to build up organic matter which other plants....most likely other colonising light loving plants....its the first stages of primary succession.....each succession of plants changes the environment and other plants species are able to compete better and take over for a while...then change the environment again and the next in succession takes over.


  2. They start to look good to the deer and get eaten?

  3. it will keep growing.. they live in moist places. they dont  have roots..
